Process_Description:

The IKONOS image was processed/classified using the Erdas Imagine 8.6/8.7 software. Classification methods used include unsupervised,supervided and modeling with ancillary data (dem, soil). Ecognition 4.0 Professional was also used to refine previous classifications and to extract some detailed classes that were difficult to separate. Classified image was filtered to an 1-acre minimum mapping unit (pixels of any ground feature smaller than 1 acre were filtered out and replaced by neighboring values). Urban pixels were put back into the filtered image based on the confidence in Urban classification accuracy. The final image classification was exported to Arc/Info grid and then converted to shapfile format.
